Electromagnetic Flowmeter

ELECTROMAGNETIC FLOW METERS Magnetic flowmeter atau Electomagnetic flow meter atau sering disebut magmeter merupakan jenis flow meter yang tidak mempunyai bagian yang bergerak ( moving part) . Magnetic flow meter ini sangat ideal jika digunakan untuk pengukuran aliran fluida yang tidak homogen, cairan yang kotor, cairan yang mengandung lumpur atau untuk cairan limbah ataupun air intake, air bahan baku, air dari waduk atau sungai yang banyak mengandung kotoran atau sampah ( plastik, rumput atayupun lainnya) , sehinga cukup cocok digunakan untuk flow meter limbah. Magmeter atau electromagnetic flow meter ini hanya bisa digunakan pada aplikasi air ( water) yang mempunyai konduktifitas tertentu, sesuai dengan aturan yang disyaratkan masing manufacture flowmeter electromagnetic. Secara umum magnetic flowmeter tidak berfungsi pada fluida hidrokarbon dan air suling ( distilled water / demin water) , namun ideal untuk mengukur aliran cairan seperti slurry dan material korosif.seperti pada proses chemical ataupun minuman maupun cairan air yang kental seperti kecap, sauce, syrup dan lainnya.
 Flowmeter electromagnetic ini sangat cocok digunakan pada sistem aliran yang menyaratkan pressure drop yang sangat rendah. Prinsip kerja Electromagnetic flow meter jenis ini didasarkan pada hukum induksi elektromagnetik ( Faraday’ s Law) , yaitu bila suatu fluida konduktif elektrik melewati pipa sensor elecromagnetic, maka fluida akan bekerja sebagai konduktor yang bergerak memotong medan magnet yang dibangkitkan oleh kumparan magnetic dari sensor / transducer, sehingga timbul tegangan listrik induksi.
 Jenis Electromagnetic Flow Meter
 Electromagnetic flow meter jika dilihat dari jenis installasinya terdapat dua jenis yaitu :
 1. In Line Model Magnetic flow meters
 Electromagnetic flowmeter jenis In Line ini dasarnya adalah meletakan sensor atau tranducer yang mempunyai kemampuan menimbulkan medan magnet yang berupa electrode yang diperkuat dengan kumparan ( coil electric ) disekeliling pipa dengan pemasangan electrode letaknya berseberangan disisi kanan dan kiri dari body pipa. Electromagnetic flow meter ini mempunyai tingkat akurasi yang cukup bagus dan bisa hingga 0.2% untuk model tertentu.
 2. Insertion Model Magnetic Flow Meter
 Electromagnetic Flow Meter Jenis Insertion dilakukan dengan cara menyisipkan ( Insertion) coil electric kedalam pipa yang akan diukur flow rate nya dengan memasang electrode di ujungnya. Jenis Insertion electromagnetic flow meter ini cocok jika digunakan untuk ukuran pipa yang menengah keatas. Mengenai harga dari insertion electromagnetic flow meter ini akan lebih rendah jika diaplikasikan pada pipa dengan ukuran besar.

GENERAL INFORMATION
This unique system of 2" to 8" turbine meters uses just one moving part, a precision helical rotor. Rotation of the rotor is electronically detected and processed. The high-quality jewel bearings and polished zirconia ceramic shafts minimize friction while providing long wear life in non-lubricating fluids. The entire rotor assembly can be easily removed for field service without removing the meter from the pipe. WTP FLOW METER bodies are fabricated from Schedule 80 PVC fittings, WTC flowmeter bodies from carbon steel tubing, and WTS flow meters bodies (available as special order) from stainless steel tubing. The turbine insert flowmeters on WTC and WTS flow meters is machined from a stainless steel casting. The WTP turbine insert flow meters  is machined from a solid piece of PVC (polypro in 2” size). Turbine rotors on all models are Kynar (PVDF). WT flow meters can be ordered with various output options. The basic model (100) comes with pulse output only. An electronic display (Seametrics FT420) is mounted on the 101 model to display flow rate and total (resettable or non-resettable), and provide a programmable pulse or 4-20 mA output. Other electronics options include a blind 4-20 mA transmitter (AO55) on the 102 model and a battery-powered (FT415) rate/totalizer plus pulse output for applications that lack power (104 model). All of these controls/displays can be mounted on the flow meter or remotely mounted on a wall or panel up to 2,000 feet away. WTSeries flow meters are compatible for use with most other remote-mount Seametrics displays and controls as well.
