This galvanic cell sensor that measures oxygen concentration has been in use since the mid-1960s to detect (and alert) oxygen deficiency throughout all industries.

A broad range of sensor types, suited for various kinds of oxygen meters, are available from GASTEC: firmly-installed types, portable or stationary ones, operating on the principle of diffusion or suction.
The measurement principle involves an electrolyte-soluble metal anode and an insoluble metal cathode that are immersed in the electrolyte. As the metal of the anode dissolves, it emits electrons that reach the cathode.
In the cathode, the oxygen penetrating the thin membrane film absorbs the electrons emitted by the anode. The flow (current) of this electron is proportional to the oxygen concentration penetrating the membrane film, and the oxygen concentration can be measured with a metre. Since the reaction occurs spontaneously, this sensor type requires no power source.

The Permeater is a gas generator for calibration purposes that utilises permeation and diffusion tubes to generate the calibration gas. When the permeation and diffusion tubes are set at a constant temperature, the weight of both the permeating and the evaporating diffusion gas will be respectively set at constant levels.

In this manner, calibration gas is continuously generated by setting both tubes at a constant temperature and providing a constant flow of dilution gas such as air or nitrogen.
This method is highly reliable because gas concentration levels are determined based on the dynamic weight loss obtained from measurements such as rate of permeation diffusion or evaporation diffusion as well as the quantity of dilution gas calculated by weight.

The EVRM-NC type valve is a manual reset safety valve that is normally closed. When the coil is not energized the spring works on the shutter keeping the gas passage closed. Simply by energizing the coil the valve does not open. It is necessary to manually move the reset rod located at the top of the coil. Once opened, the valve can maintain this position until electric current circulates on the coil. In absence of electric current the valve closes rapidly and remains shut upon return of same. Once the causes for the lock have been eliminated, opening must be worked manually as described above.
This type of device, connected with one or more pressure switches is suitable for locking operations upon gas, air, or electric current failure, and is qualified for continuous service (permanently live).

The VMH type valve is a safety shut off valve for gaseous media operated by hydraulic actuator. It is suitable for gas blocking and releasing controls, as required in the main pipe of gas power burners, atmospheric gas boilers, industrial kilns and gas consuming appliances.


When the actuator is energized, the valve opens slowly (some seconds); as soon as power supply stops, the valve closes immediately (<1 sec). It is qualified for continuous service (100% ED). The VRA/VLA/VTA types are normally closed solenoid valves for cold combustion air regulation. When the coil is not energized the spring works on the disc, keeping the adjusted minimum passage of air. Solenoid actuators are designed to operate VF and VFH butterfly valves.When the coil is not energized the inner spring pushes down the plunger and, by means of a gear mating, shifts the connected valve to the minimum opening position.

When the coil is powered the plunger moves up fast (SR) or slowly (SL-ST), shifting the valve to the maximum opening position. This type of device, connected to VF and VFH butterfly valves, is used in two-stage control of gas and air flow in combustion processes.

MZ Servomotor for butterfly valves

Servomotors MZ are designed to operate VF and VFH butterfly valves. They consist of a multi-stage spur gearbox with DC motor, driven by an electronic control unit. This allows a high torque and adjustable running time. MZ3 type is suitable for basic adjusting position, operated by cams connected to driving shaft.


MZ5 type is suitable for advanced adjusting position, controlled by analogue signals with very high positioning precision. Description


The new PR series paperless recorders are launched in full product range with outstanding specifications and features. PR series includes a low-cost PR10, a popular PR20 and a high-end PR30. Compared with the first generation VR series, PR series offers much more, for example recorders in 4.3” & 12.1” displays in addition to 5.6”, 100 msec. sampling rate, external channels, batch, custom display, more strict FDA 21 CFR part 11, handwriting messages, SD slot, 2 USBs, pulse input, field calibration, Web Server, email, 19 languages, IP65, and yet in shorter depth 167mm.
